Absolutely not. This session is designed specifically to help beginners start from scratch. We skip the confusing terminology and focus on “Ear-to-Voice” techniques that anyone can follow.
In Hindustani Classical Music, the true knowledge is in the swar (sound), not the script. To keep your focus on listening and internalizing the Raaga, I provide a Full Recording of the Live Class instead of written notes. This allows you to listen to the nuances, the ‘andolan,’ and the ‘meend’ repeatedly—something a piece of paper can never capture.
As Ustad Zakir Hussain famously said: “In the learning of Hindustani Classical Music, the teacher never teaches; a student learns.” My role in this session is to open the doors to the world of Raagas and provide the right environment. Personal attention does not guarantee transformation. While this is a group masterclass, I have kept a dedicated Live Q&A session at the end where I address as many individual doubts as possible to guide your self-learning journey.

You just need a stable internet connection and the Zoom app on your phone or laptop. A pair of headphones is highly recommended so you can hear the nuances of the Raagas clearly.
